Post 8:This week in science(fruit flys part1)

This week in science I got a chance to see my spider habitats and I noticed that the red spider came back I was always wondering where was it hiding I noticed a few things like our slug died and more plats started to grow even more.also this week in science I got a chance to see some fruit flies in a vile I saw the larva and the pupa but I didn't get a chance to see any eggs because they was hiding to me it was gross

This is a picture of a male and female cartooned version of a fruit fly.

This week in science I learned about how long it takes for a female fruit fly to mate(2 days after it turns into an adult).I learned how many days it stays as a larva, egg, pupa and adult and when you add them up it equals to 16 days. Also this week in science I learned how to tell the difference between a female and male the females legs are longer and the males abdomen is dark at the bottom.

Post 7:This Week in Science (Ecosystems)

this is a picture of our spiders habitat
this is a picture of our red spider aint it pretty
this is my group looking into our habitat looking for the red spider

For the past two weeks we went to a garden to find organisms to put into our spider habitats my group found lots of worms ,centipedes, millipedes ,snails and slugs.my group was the only group to find some spiders though we found 2 of them at first we found a red one then we found a cellar spider.also for the past two weeks we have drew what we wanted our habitats to look like and we also drew how the actual habitat looks.

For the past two weeks i learned that the red spider that we found eats pill bugs and the cellar spider we found can kill the red spider by wrapping its long legs around it or something like that.I also learned that everything inside of the tank can still survive even if the top is covered with plastic wrap stuff you have to put some type of plant inside so the organisms could take the oxygen and give out carbon and the plant could take that in.

im still wondering how long will it take for all of the living organisms to die out?And im very concerned on how long are we going to wait to get the actual spiders for the habitat ?what exactly are we waiting for?are we waiting for everything to die out?or are we waiting for all off the plants to start growing.
